The College of Fine Arts of Hongik University, on the university's Seoul campus, teaches both fine arts and design and crafts. Alongside departments of Oriental painting, painting, printmaking, sculpture and a School of Design, it has departments of Metal Art and Jewelry, Ceramics and Glass, Woodworking and Furniture Design, and Textile Art and Fashion Design. Hongik University traces its origins to an institute founded in Seoul in 1946.
