In short
The Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna was founded in 1710 to support the local artistic industries and is housed in the former Jesuit novitiate of Sant'Ignazio, in the university quarter, next to the Pinacoteca Nazionale. Alongside painting, sculpture, decoration and scenography, its first-level courses include product design, aimed at objects for multiple production, and fashion design. It also runs five-year single-cycle restoration courses for stone and decorated architectural surfaces, painted and carved wood and furnishings, and paper, parchment and photographic materials.
