The Accademia di Belle Arti di Lecce is a state academy of fine arts founded in 1960 and housed since 1970 in the former Dominican convent next to the church of San Giovanni Battista, near Porta Rudiae. Besides painting, sculpture, decoration, graphics, set design, new art technologies and cinema, its school of «progettazione artistica per l'impresa» (artistic design for industry) offers three- and two-year diplomas whose training covers graphic design, product design, exhibition design and fashion design.
