The Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg offers Fine Arts with a focus on jewellery and objects (Schmuck und Gerät) in a dedicated class, one of its artistic classes, alongside free art, graphic and communication design, art education and a master's programme in Live Art Forms. Teaching is organised in classes in which students of all semesters work together and discuss their work. The academy was founded in 1662 by Jacob von Sandrart and others as a painters' academy and states that it is the oldest art school in the German-speaking world; the jewellery class holds open studio days for prospective students.
