In short
The Al Sadu Weaving Cooperative Society is a non-profit organisation dedicated to preserving, documenting and promoting Kuwait's textile heritage, from Bedouin desert weaving to the urban weaving of the town. It is based at Sadu House, a 1936 house on the Arabian Gulf Street seafront next to the National Museum of Kuwait, which became the home of weaving in 1980. The society runs a sequence of traditional sadu weaving courses (INSIJ, levels 1 to 5, each a prerequisite for the next), as well as workshops in natural traditional dyeing and Bedouin decorative stitches, tassels and cords, and lists training and train-the-trainers programmes among its objectives.
