The Department of Industrial Design of Alanya University, in Alanya on the Antalya coast, belongs to the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences. It teaches students to analyse user needs and turn ideas into functional, aesthetic and manufacturable products through design studios, theory courses and practical work in design research, user experience, materials and production technologies, digital design and prototyping. The university's separate Faculty of Art and Design has departments of gastronomy and culinary arts, taught in Turkish and in English.
