In short
The Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts (ALBA), the founding faculty of the University of Balamand since 1988, is based in Sin el Fil, Beirut. Its schools include architecture, decorative arts (interior architecture, design, graphic arts and advertising), fashion, visual arts and cinema; the design section, created in 1999 as a furniture design option, now offers a three-year bachelor's in product design that teaches industrial and craft manufacturing methods. The École de mode opened in 2016, and in 2025 ALBA created a bachelor's in conservation and restoration of heritage in partnership with France's Institut national du patrimoine, with workshops and training worksites from the first year.
