Alchimia is a school dedicated to contemporary jewellery, opened in Florence in 1998 in the San Frediano neighbourhood of the Oltrarno. It offers a two-year Bachelor of Fine Arts in contemporary jewellery and jewellery design, a two-year Master of Fine Arts in contemporary jewellery and cultural identity, intensive courses, micro-stone setting and engraving, workshops and an exchange programme. The school states that it is an independent private institution whose programmes carry a private accreditation and are not formally recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education; since 2016 it has worked in two locations in the historic centre of Florence.
