In short

The Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Sarajevo (ALU) was founded in 1972 and since 1981 has occupied a renovated former Evangelical church built in 1899. Besides painting, sculpture, printmaking and graphic design, its Department of Product Design offers undergraduate and postgraduate study based on projects, seeking cooperation with industry and crafts. Together with the Faculty of Science it runs an interdisciplinary programme in Conservation and Restoration, with a three-year undergraduate course and a two-year specialist master's.
