In short

Älvsby folkhögskola, founded in 1951 and run by the Church of Sweden's Diocese of Luleå, offers long and short courses in Älvsbyn and at a distance. Its furniture line (Möbellinjen) has a basic year and an extension year focused on reuse: joinery with hand tools and machines, carving and jointing techniques, painting and colour with linseed oil and egg tempera, and traditional and modern upholstery, working also on furniture brought in by outside customers. The school presents the line as a preparatory course for the Malmsten programme at Linköping University and the Träakademien in Kramfors.
