The Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina (Areandina) offers a professional degree in fashion design at its Bogotá campus, in its Faculty of Design and Fine Arts: eight semesters, on-site. Students choose one of two emphases, Fashion Design and Communication or Textile Design and Innovation, and present their work at the INDUMENTO runways held at the end of each semester. The university states that the programme was founded in 1993 as the first professional fashion design programme in Colombia.
