The Townsville School of the Australian Guitar Making School is in Belgian Gardens, an inner suburb of Townsville in North Queensland, and is run by instructor Joel Dubbeld, a trained cabinetmaker who specialises in custom solid-timber furniture. The school works out of an old grain storage shed behind the Studio Dubbeld building, a Second World War Quonset hut that is a local landmark. Students build their own guitar in four-hour classes held in the morning, afternoon and evening.
