In short
Auckland University of Technology (AUT) teaches art and design at its City Campus in central Auckland. Its three-year Bachelor of Design includes a Fashion Design major, alongside communication, industrial, interaction, spatial and animation design, and it also offers a Bachelor of Visual Arts. The fashion major is studio-based: students learn sewing in weekly technical workshops, pattern cutting throughout the degree and garment making, with a focus on 'slow' fashion, craftsmanship and sustainability. Selected final-year students show their work in a public fashion show.
