The Karacasu Memnune İnci Vocational School of Aydın Adnan Menderes University opened in 2000 in Karacasu, in Aydın province, starting with ceramics and leatherwork programmes. Its Handicrafts Department runs the two-year Architectural Decorative Arts associate degree, which grew out of the former ceramics programme and covers ceramics, tiles, wood and stone decoration, with wheel throwing linked to the town's pottery tradition. The school lists ceramic forming, plaster-mould, glaze, jewellery, casting and gemstone workshops and a gemmology laboratory; it also runs an Architectural Restoration programme.
