In short

Bäckedal is a folk high school in Sveg, Härjedalen, run today by Region Jämtland Härjedalen; it was inaugurated in October 1954. Its craft and sustainability courses include ancient smithing and metalwork, traditional hide tanning with fat and bark (described as a journeyman-level course), and a textile course from fibre to finished object, alongside courses in food crafts and self-sufficiency. The school says it has offered craft courses for over 40 years, the first starting in 1982.
