The Sason Vocational School of Batman University, in the town of Sason in Batman province, south-eastern Turkey, was established in 2013 by decision of the Turkish Council of Higher Education. Within its Department of Handicrafts it runs a two-year Conservation programme, opened in 2013 and teaching students since 2021, which trains restorer-conservator technicians to study movable and immovable archaeological and ethnographic heritage, identify the causes of its decay and carry out conservation and repair. Courses include basic restoration techniques and the restoration and conservation of stone works, with practical sessions at the Hasankeyf Museum and the Hasankeyf Culture Park.
