Beihai University of Art and Design is a full-time undergraduate university focused on art and design in Beihai, Guangxi, recognised as an undergraduate institution in 2014. Its School of Fashion grew out of a fashion design department set up in 2004 and now concentrates on clothing and costume design, with courses in pattern making, design, fabric science and fashion marketing. The school states that it has laboratories including a digital fashion design lab with 3D virtual modelling and a digital printing lab, and that each year group presents its work in themed shows. The university uses a 3+1 model, with the fourth year at its practice base in Beijing.
