In short
北京工业职业技术学院 is a public higher vocational college in Shijingshan, Beijing; its predecessor, a coal geology school, was founded in 1956, and it became a vocational college in 1999. Its jewellery design and craft programme, run within the School of Architecture and Surveying Engineering, teaches jewellery making, 3D modelling, gem design and cutting, jade carving, filigree and chasing, and gem identification. The programme works with master studios for jade carving and filigree inlay and with jewellery companies.
