In short
Bucks County Community College, whose main campus is in Newtown, Pennsylvania, offers a Furniture and Cabinetmaking certificate through its School of Visual & Performing Arts at the Hicks Art Center. The two-to-three-semester programme combines an introduction to the history and theory of making functional wooden objects with studio practice in handling materials and working safely with hand tools, power tools and industry equipment. Graduates design and build finished wood pieces, draw furniture by hand and digitally, and present a professional portfolio; admission requires a portfolio review.
