Capel Manor College – Saddlery and Shoemaking

Capel Manor College is a land-based further education college with five campuses across London; its saddlery, shoemaking and leatherwork courses are taught at the Enfield Campus, in a leather workshop housed in historic Victorian stables and in a cordwainers shoemaking workshop and shoe design studio. Saddlery training covers the making and repair of saddles, harnesses and bridles, through the Worshipful Company of Cordwainers' Diploma in Saddle, Harness and Bridle Making (City & Guilds, Levels 2 and 3) and the Worshipful Company of Saddlers Certificates, taught one weekend a month. Shoemaking is taught on a one-year Access to HE Diploma covering footwear pattern cutting, lasts and shoe construction, and the college also offers a Level 1 leathercraft award.
