In short
Casa Flor Ixcaco is a group of Maya women weavers in San Juan La Laguna, Guatemala, started in the 1990s by Teresa Ujpan Pérez with five other women. Today 42 women work together: they grow their own native cotton in four colours, dye with seeds, leaves, flowers and bark, and weave all their pieces on the traditional backstrap loom. The weavers' portraits on the site tell how the craft is learned in the family, from mothers and grandmothers, and passed on to daughters.
