In short

CEARTE is the public vocational training centre for crafts and heritage in Portugal, set up under a protocol between the national employment and training institute (IEFP), Cáritas Diocesana de Coimbra and the Ricardo do Espírito Santo Silva Foundation. Based in Coimbra, with training sites in Semide and Cabaços, it runs certified courses in crafts such as ceramics, pottery and textile arts, including a technological specialisation in textile arts design. It also manages the national crafts register and craftsperson's card and offers technical support to artisans.
