In short
The Center for Furniture Craftsmanship is a non-profit woodworking school in Rockport, Maine, founded by the furniture maker Peter Korn in 1993 as a summer workshop programme in a barn behind his house; it moved to its present site in 1996 and became a non-profit in 1999. It teaches furniture making, turning, carving, marquetry and finishing through one- and two-week workshops, furniture, turning and carving intensives, and a Nine-Month Comprehensive programme, and also offers fellowships and assistantships. The campus has been expanded several times, with a woodturning studio added in 2005 and a new woodshop and finishing studio in 2013, and includes the Messler Gallery.
