The Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) is a fine arts university in Beijing under China's Ministry of Education. It traces its history to the National School of Fine Arts founded in Beijing in 1918 and took its present name in 1950. Its schools and departments cover painting, calligraphy, sculpture, design, architecture, conservation and humanities. The School of Design teaches visual communication, digital media, product design and fashion and accessory design, including a fashion and jewelry design direction.
