The Department of Design and Studio Art is part of the Faculty of Humanities of the Central University of Technology (CUT) and teaches at the Bloemfontein campus. Its multidisciplinary Diploma in Design and Studio Art covers five disciplines: graphic design, fashion, jewellery design and manufacture, fine art and photography; the fashion pathway includes original concepts and garment construction, and the jewellery pathway traditional and contemporary jewellery-making and metalworking. The department also offers Advanced Diplomas in Design Technology and in Studio Art and Postgraduate Diplomas in Art and Social Design and in Design Technology, with digital fabrication and 3D modelling among its facilities.
