In short
Te Fare Anoihi, the Centre des métiers d'art of French Polynesia in Papeete, is a public institution created in 1980 on the initiative of Henri Bouvier, a former engraving student of the École Boulle, to pass on Polynesian crafts. It trains young creators in workshops that cover sculpture, engraving, basketry, plaiting and tapa, and design. Its courses lead to the Polynesian CPMA and BPMA craft certificates, introduced in 2017, and since 2022 to the DN MADE, a national bachelor-level diploma with an Oceanian objects and graphic arts pathway, run in partnership with the Lycée Samuel Raapoto and the University of French Polynesia.
