In short

The Setificio Paolo Carcano is a state upper secondary school in Como that began in the late 1860s as a municipal school for silk-industry workers and became a royal silk school in 1903. Today it offers technical and lyceum courses, including Textile and Fashion System, where after two common years students choose textile design or textiles, clothing and fashion, and a chemistry course with a four-year option focused on textile technologies. Since 1975 the school has been located at Via Castelnuovo 5, in Como's textile technology hub.
