In short
The Centro Interamericano de Artesanías y Artes Populares (CIDAP), established in 1975 by agreement between the government of Ecuador and the Organization of American States, is based in Cuenca. Its continental training programme for the craft sector, Entre Manos, aims to safeguard traditional craft knowledge and techniques and train new generations, through virtual workshops and seminars, training projects planned with artisan communities, the Inter-American Course on crafts and design, and co-creation projects. CIDAP also runs the Museum of Popular Arts and a documentation centre.
