In short
The College of the North Atlantic offers a two-year Textile & Apparel Design programme at its Prince Philip Drive campus in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. In the first year students try different media and techniques: knitting, weaving and felting in fabric design; embroidery, dyeing and rug hooking in surface design; and the design and sewing of clothing and accessories in apparel design. In the second year they specialise in two of these three studio areas, with supporting courses in colour theory, digital design, art and craft history, art marketing and proposal writing, and experience at craft fairs, trade shows and exhibitions.
