Cornwall College teaches a Level 2 Furniture Making Diploma at its Camborne campus, covering timber properties, design within real constraints, pricing and cutting lists, cutting, jointing and shaping with hand tools and power tools, and 3D design software alongside traditional drawing. The course lasts twelve months, three days a week for 16 to 19 year olds and two days a week for adults, and ends with an exhibition of students' work for local employers. The college says it runs the only industry-recognised furniture making diplomas west of Exeter.
