In short

The German Gemmological Association, based in Idar-Oberstein, has taught gemmology in theory and practice since its foundation in 1932. At its training centre, with laboratories and a teaching collection of gemstones, synthetics and imitations, it offers programmes in gemstones, diamonds, and pearls and organic substances, a full-time course combining them, scientific methods in gemmology and sales knowledge, in German and English.
