The Dutch HealthTec Academy (DHTA) in Utrecht is an MBO vocational school for health technology and one of the schools of MBO Amersfoort; most of its programmes train technicians who measure and make medical aids such as hearing aids, glasses, dentures and prostheses. In shoe technology it is launching a renewed modular programme for shoe repairers from February 2027, leading to an MBO diploma, with modules also open to professionals, and from September 2026 three new shoemaking courses of ten six-hour days. The full-time made-to-measure shoemaker programme (Shoe Developer) has been discontinued because of falling enrolment.
