In short
Lutherie-Guitare Bruand is a school-workshop for guitar making in Longueuil, housed at the Cégep Édouard-Montpetit; the school states it was born there in 1975 on the initiative of luthier André Brunet. In partnership with the Institut des métiers d'art of the Cégep du Vieux Montréal, it teaches the guitar-making option of the three-year college diploma (DEC) in craft techniques, focused on plucked string instruments, mainly the guitar. Teaching follows a master-to-student model in small classes, and the school also carries out research and outreach for the luthier community.
