The Geneva watchmaking school is one of the schools of the Centre de formation professionnelle technique (CFPT), the public technical vocational training centre of the Canton of Geneva. It offers seven initial training courses, with or without a vocational baccalaureate: watchmaking operator and polisher (federal VET attestation, 2 years), watch case and bracelet finisher and microtechnology quality technician (federal VET certificate), production watchmaker, watchmaker (4 years) and micromechanic, either full-time at school or in the dual system, as well as a two-year higher programme for microtechnology technicians. The school says it was founded more than 200 years ago and is now located on the Tourbillon site in Plan-les-Ouates, in premises hosted by the ForPro foundation.
