In short
The École Hermès des savoir-faire trains leatherworking artisans inside the maison's own manufactures, where teaching is given by artisans working on the production sites. In the Auvergne pole, the École de Riom trains future artisans for the Hermès leather workshops at Sayat, in place since 2004, and at Riom, where Hermès opened a site in the former tobacco factory in 2024. The saddler-leatherworker path combines six months of trade preparation with a one-year CAP Maroquinerie in work-study, a qualification recognised by the French Ministry of Education; the school also trains leather cutters and stitchers through professional qualification certificates (CQP). Training costs are not borne by the learners.
