In short
The École Hermès des savoir-faire trains leatherworking artisans inside the maison's own manufactures, where the teaching is given by artisans working on the production sites. In the South-West pole, the school in Marthon, together with the one in Saint-Junien, trains future artisans for Hermès workshops that began in Nontron in 1996 and now include the Saint-Junien glove and leather workshop, the Tardoire workshop in Montbron, opened in 2015, and L'Isle-d'Espagnac, opened in 2025. Courses lead to state-recognised qualifications: the saddler-leatherworker path combines six months of trade preparation with a one-year CAP Maroquinerie in work-study, and the school also trains cutters and leather stitchers. Training costs are not borne by the learners.
