In short
The École privée de Lutherie lès Maguelone (EPLM) is a small violin-making school set up within a workshop that makes and repairs string-quartet instruments, at 8 rue des Fours in Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone, near Montpellier. Registered with the French Ministry of Education, it prepares adults for the CAP in string-quartet lutherie in two or three years, with a maximum of five students so that they can work in the workshop. Teaching covers instrument making, varnish making and application, repairs and adjustments, drawing and plans, and music and the history of lutherie; the school is directed by the luthier Christophe Wagner, who says he trained in Cremona.
