ENSATT, the national higher school of theatre arts and techniques, is a public school in Lyon, at 4 rue Sœur Bouvier, that trains for ten artistic and technical theatre professions; admission is by competitive entrance exam and the school has two working theatres for its productions. Among them, the Atelier costume programme, a three-year diploma at master's level, trains costume makers for theatre, dance, opera and cabaret, combining creative, technical and historical teaching with knowledge of materials and textiles and made-to-measure cutting (tailoring, soft garments, corsetry). It works alongside a costume design programme, and the school also offers short professional courses.
