In short
The École de Sèvres is the school of the Manufacture nationale de Sèvres, run by the apprentice training centre (CFA) of the Manufactures nationales – Sèvres & Mobilier national, a public institution under the French Ministry of Culture. Over two years, apprentices train in one of the 27 trades of the Manufacture, in porcelain and ceramic production, and prepare the Brevet des Métiers d'Art (BMA) in ceramics. The training also prepares them for the civil-service competition for specialised art technicians in ceramics. The school takes on about ten apprentices at a time, recruiting three to seven a year.
