The Escola d'Art de Menorca is a public school of the Balearic government in Maó (Mahón). It was created in 1986 as the Escola d'Arts Aplicades i Oficis Artístics de Maó, at the request of the island's costume-jewellery manufacturers, who needed designers. Its craft course is the two-year intermediate cycle in artistic jewellery procedures, which covers decorative techniques, stone setting, kiln enamelling, wax modelling for casting, moulds and an introduction to gemmology, with a work placement and a final piece; the school also offers an art baccalaureate and graphic cycles.
