The Universidad Nacional de Arte Diego Quispe Tito del Cusco, formerly the Escuela Superior Autónoma de Bellas Artes Diego Quispe Tito (ESABAC), is a national art university in Cusco whose history begins in 1946, when the school opened on 3 October in the Salón de Artesanos of Cusco. It has a Faculty of Art and a Faculty of Education, with programmes in drawing and painting, drawing, printmaking and graphic design, and art education. It also trains conservators and restorers: it awards a licentiate in the professional career of conservation and restoration of works of art, whose theses in the university repository deal with paintings, polychrome sculptures and choir books from churches and convents in Cusco and elsewhere in Peru. Besides its main site in Cusco's historic centre, it has sites in Checacupe and Calca.
