ESMOD is a fashion school founded in Paris in 1841, whose history goes back to the master tailor Alexis Lavigne and his pattern-cutting methods. It teaches fashion design and, since 1989, fashion business, through bachelor, postgraduate, intensive, work-study, evening and summer programmes; third-year specialisations of the fashion design bachelor include accessories and couture atelier. In France it has schools in Paris, Pantin, Lyon, Roubaix, Rennes and Bordeaux, and it states that it is present in 12 countries with 18 schools.
