The Chennai campus of the Footwear Design & Development Institute, an Institution of National Importance under the FDDI Act 2017, is at Irungattukottai, near the SIPCOT footwear and component park in Kancheepuram district, about 40 minutes' drive from Chennai. It offers B.Des degrees in Footwear Design & Production and in Fashion Design and an M.Des in Footwear Design & Production. The 15-acre campus includes workshops, a resource centre and student hostels.
