The Escola de Artes e Ofícios is the training arm of the Ricardo do Espírito Santo Silva Foundation in Lisbon, which seeks to keep traditional production practices alive and pairs the teaching of hand techniques with knowledge of materials and equipment. It offers certified training, registered with the national qualifications system, as an artistic cabinetmaker, covering furniture, inlay and marquetry and carving, and as a decorative painting technician, covering techniques such as fresco, gilding and trompe-l'oeil, as well as certified modular courses. The foundation also has workshops and a conservation and restoration department.
