Galdus – Scuola Professionale, corso di Oreficeria
In short
Galdus is a vocational training organisation in Milan whose goldsmithing course, for students who have completed lower secondary school and publicly funded, leads to a vocational qualification and a technical diploma. Students learn to design jewellery with dedicated software and to use goldsmith techniques such as piercing, wax modelling, engraving and fired enamel, to make pieces at the bench and to recognise gems, metals and precious stones, together with art and jewellery history and luxury retail; from the second year they spend 300 to 500 hours a year in workplaces. Galdus, which started in the 1990s, also teaches other trades, among them bakery and pastry.
