In short

Gotlands folkhögskola is a folk high school run by Region Gotland, with schools in Hemse in the south of the island and in Fårösund in the north; the school says it started in 1876 and moved to Hemse in 1881. In Hemse it runs Textillinjen, a full-time textile course of one to two years that covers dyeing (including plant dyeing), colour and form, materials, pattern construction and digital design for screen printing, and prepares for higher studies in textiles, design, textile art and textile teaching. A project year lets participants deepen a textile project of their own.
