Guizhou Light Industry Vocational University is a public vocational university at bachelor level in the Gui'an New Area of Guiyang, established in June 2025 on the basis of Guizhou Light Industry Technical College, itself formed in 2004 from two light-industry schools of 1977 and 1979. Its Department of Art and Design, which began in 1983 as the arts and crafts section of a light-industry school, offers arts and crafts design, clothing and costume design, art design and interior design, and is a member of the China batik association. The Department of Light and Chemical Industry teaches brewing technology, and its students compete in baijiu tasting contests.
