Hainan Normal University in Haikou was formally established in 1949 and traces its roots to the Qiongtai Academy; it has two campuses, Longkun South and Guilinyang. Its School of Fine Arts offers six undergraduate programmes, including clothing and costume design, environmental design and visual communication design, and has laboratories that include a fashion design lab and a model-making lab.
