In short
The Haute École de Joaillerie is the private jewellery school created in the 19th century by the trade's employers' federation, based since 1919 in the federation's building at 58 rue du Louvre in Paris, with campuses also in Lyon and Aix-en-Provence. It prepares the jewellery diplomas of the sector, including the CAP and the Brevet des métiers d'art in jewellery (with bench jewellery, setting and polishing options), the Certificat supérieur de joaillerie and a bachelor in jewellery design, through initial, work-study and continuing-education departments, and also teaches gemmology and computer-aided jewellery design. Since 2002 the major Place Vendôme houses have taken turns sponsoring its graduating classes.
