In short
The Höhere Bundeslehranstalt und Bundesamt für Wein- und Obstbau, at Wiener Straße 74 in Klosterneuburg, is both a school and a research and service institution of the Austrian agriculture ministry. Founded in 1860, it offers a five-year course combining general education with training in viticulture, winemaking and fruit growing, including 20 weeks of compulsory internship in wineries, fruit farms, laboratories or processing plants. It also publishes a course programme for adults; the school states it is the oldest school of viticulture and fruit growing in the world.
